Keeping our motorways moving is a critical issue for all major urban environments. Smart road infrastructure plays an increasingly important role and Rittal has recently provided a custom solution for housing sensitive monitoring equipment and batteries in what is often a harsh environment. A high protection level against dirt and water was necessary and this was achieved by vertically baying three AE IP66 enclosures. The top compartment is used for switching and monitoring equipment, whilst the bottom compartments are segregated for battery storage.
